license agreement

By using gratemusic.com, LDSmusic.us, or other sites owned or operated by Grate Music, LLC, you signify that you agree to these terms. You promise to honor this agreement without termination, no matter what your location in the world. In this agreement, Grate Media, Grate Music, LLC and their affiliated sites will be known as "Grate Music" and "the websites" respectively. Individual users of the site will be called "you." The contents of the files on the websites constitute "the music."

Sheet Music
(including PDF files and text pages)

By viewing, downloading, printing, or otherwise accessing free sheet music files offered on the websites, you agree to be bound by the following terms:

1. The content in these files is copyrighted. By making it available, Grate Music licenses you to do the following:
   • Save a copy of the PDF file on one computer for your personal reference.
   • Print and photocopy sufficient copies of the sheet music for your personal use.
   • Distribute copies to others in an ensemble performing the music, on the condition that you collect them afterward and destroy or personally archive them.
   • Perform the music contained therein at personal and religious performances where admission is not charged and the performance is not recorded.
   • Archive your printed copies for your personal future use.
     
     
2. This license prohibits the following activities:
   • Recording performances of the music, including nonprofit and archival recordings not intended for sale.
   • Performing the music for money, including nonprofit, benefit, and religious performances where admission is charged.
   • Distributing copies of the music. You may make copies for the use of your ensemble, but you must collect them after performance and destroy or archive them personally.
   • Reposting or redistributing the file(s) on the internet or via other electronic means.
   • Sending the file via e-mail.
   • Redistributing via physical or electronic means, including but not limited to photocopy, fax, e-mail, scanning, microfilm, or any other method not mentioned or yet to be invented
   • Republishing the music and/or text in any way, including musical anthologies and program notes.
   • Making any derivative work, i.e. arranging, orchestrating, resetting texts, etc.
   • Using the music or any part thereof as a component in any larger work, such as a video presentation.

   Grate Music allows you to share the music legally, so please do not share it illegally. Refer others to the websites, rather than copying and redistributing the files.
   
   

3. Permission to reprint, repost, record, charge admission for use, or create derivative works can be obtained by e-mailing us through the contact page.

Audio Files
(Including mp3 and other formats)

By downloading, or listening to, or otherwise accessing audio files on the websites, you agree to be bound by the following terms:

1. As far as the content of the audio files is concerned, all prohibitions in the Sheet Music section of this document apply, including making derivative works and distributing or reposting the file(s).
   
   
2. These files are copyrighted. By making them available, Grate Music licenses you to do the following:
   • Save a copy of the audio file(s) on one computer for your personal use.
   • Transfer the audio file(s) to a personal music device (like an mp3 player) for your personal use.
   • Transfer the audio file(s) to a compact disc for your personal listening.
     
     
3. This license prohibits the following activities:
   • Public performance of the audio file(s). This includes use in religious services and classroom functions.
   • Distributing copies of the audio file(s), whether by reposting, e-mail, CD, analog recording, or any other physical or electronic means, whether for profit or not.
   • Sampling, remixing, or reusing any of the audio from the file(s) for any purpose.
   • Transcribing the music contained in the audio file(s).
     
     
4. Permission to use this file for any use prohibited by this agreement, including public performance, can be obtained by e-mailing .

MIDI files

MIDI files are made available for preview purposes only. The same terms apply for MIDI files as for audio files, as outlined above.

Websites

The websites, including logos, layout, content, and all files, are copyrighted. They may not be adapted, reposted, or reused without express permission from Grate Music, LLC. Contact Grate Music to inquire about using elements from the websites for other purposes.

Compensation

By using files from the websites, you agree that you will donate whatever amount you deem appropriate for the benefits you receive from the music. Donations can be made through the PayPal "Donate" buttons on the website, or you may donate by mailing a check. E-mail for the address. By donating, you agree that the funds you send belong to Grate Music, LLC to be used at its discretion, and that you give them of your free will, without expectation of further response from Grate Music. We are not responsible for the actions or the security of third parties, including PayPal or other payment gateways. Thank you for your support.
